This was a fun but challenging project. This customer wanted a bathroom that had a 1920’s cottage feel but also provided an abundance of storage for their daughters’ many personal products, a difficult thing to do when the plan was to replace the cabinet with a vintage-style pedestal sink. The end product resulted in more storage than before, even without the vanity. A custom-built wall cabinet above the sink and toilet provided a great place for stowing away necessities and displaying decorative items. A space discovered behind the wall at the faucet end of the tub was just the place for a narrow, built-in cabinet that Joe custom sized to some cubbies the customer purchased at Target. As a huge added bonus, a cabinet was tucked between 2 studs in the 2x6 back wall providing a bounty of space for bathroom products.
Classic bead board wainscoting, and a traditional tile floor rounded off the room to add the cottage atmosphere. This not only resulted beautiful room but nicely met the needs of the home-owning family.
